Extract Greenhouse Gases and Get Rich

Virgin Group chairman Richard Branson will pay $25 million prize to the first scientist who comes up with a system for extracting greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

$975,000 is the fine that companies would pay for causing environmental disasters, under a new law proposed in the European Parliament.

Dying fishes

1/3 portion of the 150 species of fish once found in China’s Yellow River are now believed to be extinct from the effects of industrial pollution and overfishing.

155 million people depend on the Yellow River as their major source of water.
