The value of the proposed merger of XM and Sirius, the only companies licensed to offer satellite radio in the U.S.
Both companies charge $12.95 monthly fee, which consumers advocates fear will increase if the deal is approved.

$85 was the initial per-share public offering of Google in 2004. The stock broke $500 for the first time last month. Analysts predict a rise to $600 within a year.

Craigslist has had 500% estimated sales growth since 2003. Its revenues (from sales of online help-wanted ads) will grow from $10 million in 2003 to $50 million this year. Revenues for newspaper classifieds fell from $19.6 billion in 2001 to $17.3 billion in 2005. (SOURCE: Fortune Magazine)

New York Times Co., the current owner of the Globe, paid $1.1 billion for it back in 1993. Since then, the company’s total daily circulation (which includes the Globe’s) has dropped 30%, and its stock is 54% off its 2002 peak. (Source: Fortune Magazine)
